The Lead Residential Technician is responsible for the supervision, safety and overall well-being of our clients and their children while engaged in the Women & Children’s Program. The Lead Residential Technician is part of a multi-disciplinary team that assists our clients to achieve their recovery and parenting goals. The Lead Residential Technician is the lead in organizing, scheduling, facilitating and overseeing the day-to-day residential component of the program. This includes but is not limited to; transportation to outside appointments, and childcare on-site while clients are engaged in their therapeutic programming and work with our individuals to develop healthy parenting and recovery skills through group intervention and day-to-day interactions.

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervises clients throughout the shift to ensure client safety. Including client counts, supervised smoke breaks and client down time. Support clients in completing their activities of daily living (ADLs) for themselves and their child.

2. Assist nursing staff in ensuring clients’ medication and medication room policies and protocols are followed by all staff. Support with training Technicians in the Self- Admission of the Medication process, under the guidance of the Nurse and Medical Director.

3. Oversight, planning and coordinating transportation for clients to ensure safety and compliance with medical appointments for themselves and their children, connection to community resources and basic needs. Assisting with and ensuring supervision of clients off-site during these trips and appointments as appropriate.

4. Facilitating Psycho-Educational group sessions with clients. Topics to help clients achieve their treatment plan goals include but not limited to; Parenting, household management, budgeting, job readiness and obtaining basic needs.

5. Responsible for completing shift notes, documenting events that took place on shift and observation of client’s behavior and symptoms. May be responsible for completing incident reports as necessary.

6. Complete Supervised Drug Screens, utilizing a trauma-informed approach. Documentation of these screens and communication concerns to the clinical and medical team. Responsible for inventory and management of supplies and collection.

7. Oversees all functions of the kitchen and food safety for the Program. Including but not limited to; food safety training for Technicians, collaboration with the food services department to ensure the menu is posted and followed, and ensuring all regulations of The Department of Public Health are followed at all shifts.

8. Support the Technicians in providing childcare for clients engaged in the program while they are participating in group or individual services. Assist directly to provide childcare when Technicians are completing other job requirements. Assisting and supporting the child with age-appropriate play and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to develop positive working relationships with our clients and their children and must abide by the Code of Ethics.
  • The Lead Residential Teach must act as positive role models to our clients and their children.
  • Must demonstrate computer competency in Windows and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn and accurately maintain agency-specific electronic files.
  • Must display a willingness and ability to adapt to new situations and challenges.
  • Must consistently maintain a pleasant, professional attitude.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to exercise exceptional judgment and deliver and meet high standards of customer service.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • An associate's degree/two years of college in a Human Services related field is preferred. (Experience as a substitute may be considered.)
  • At least six months of experience working with cases similar to those served and working in a Residential setting is required.
  • Training preferred on the following topics; Treatment Criteria for Addictive, Substance-Related, and Co-Occurring Conditions (ASAM), Co-occurring disorders, including prevalence, signs/symptoms, assessment, treatment and the impact of one’s own attitudes/beliefs on the delivery of services and the use of naloxone in response to an opioid overdose.


Schedule:
Full-time, Flexible - Monday-Friday or Sunday - Thursday; 7:30 AM-3:30 PM or 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Location: Waterbury

Hourly rate: $17.00 plus a $1,000 Sign-on bonus!
