    POSITION SUMMARY:
    This position focuses on coordinating and supporting the COVID-19 Contact Tracing Team.

    The Lead Contact Tracer is responsible for coordinating the team's activities and responsibilities. These are related to outreach to people (contacts) who have been exposed to COVID-19 or tested positive and providing health education and guidance to interrupt ongoing disease transmission. Dialogue with contacts will be guided by standard protocols to obtain any symptom history and other relevant health information, provide instructions for isolation or quarantine, and make appropriate referrals to testing, clinical services, and other essential support services.


    COMPENSATION:
    Initial wage placement according to NCSD/OSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    HOURLY RATE : (22-23 SY) E2 - $21.25 per hour
    *Internal Candidates - placement will be according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Retirement Plan Contributions
    North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.


    SCHEDULE: TBD, depending on department needs

    WORK CALENDAR: 260 day


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent with up to two years of applicable community experience.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, emotional intelligence
    • Ability to interact in a non-judgmental manner with culturally diverse populations and persons experiencing a wide range of social conditions
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use sound judgment in responding to client issues and concerns
    • Ability to adapt to changing environments and receive constructive feedback
    • Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships
    • Strong time management skills (organization, prioritization, multitasking)
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency with use of computers (desktop, laptop, tablet)

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
    • Associate degree or equivalent with up to one year of applicable community experience
    • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, with no experience.
    • Bilingual and bicultural skills.
    • Strong knowledge of schools and education programs.
    • Skills in developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse community.
    • Strong understanding and history of successful customer service and ability to establish and maintain effective relations with patrons and staff.



    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
    • Lead duties and responsibilities
      • Coordinate, direct, and supervise the Contact Tracing Team and related activities.
      • Provide support and direction to building administrators and district staff in response to COVID-19 related issues.
      • Support, coordinate, and guide school administrators when responding to a COVID-19 positive case in their school.
      • Coordinate with state and local public health officials and update Contact Tracing Team documents and protocols as needed.
      • Develop and deliver team and staff training as needed.
      • Collaboratively create and share documentation that provides guidance on procedures and processes related to COVID-19.
    • Other major duties
      • Respond to parent questions.
      • Assure confidentiality and carry out efforts to locate and communicate in a manner that preserves the confidentiality and privacy of all involved.
      • Obtain and document relevant information, including contact demographics, underlying medical conditions, and other risk factors.
      • Initiate prompt communication with people exposed to COVID-19 or tested positive (contacts) through text, phone calls, email, and other communication platforms as necessary.
      • Notify the contact of their exposure to COVID-19, following a script or guidance to provide COVID-19 health education.
      • Ensure and document pertinent information in COVID-19 contact tracing forms, and conduct data entry into health department data/surveillance systems.
      • Participate in trainings, regular program meetings in order to ensure and enhance the quality of contact notification activities and program outcomes.
      • Develops and delivers team and staff training as needed.
      • Participates in assessment of the contact tracing effectiveness and/or changing needs.
      • Fosters a culture of support, collaboration and teamwork that assures the program is responsive and sensitive to the needs of students, parents and school staff.
      • Employ dynamic communication and interpersonal skills, cultural competency/sensitivity, tactful language, and empathetic interviewing skills to build rapport and maintain trust with patients of varied backgrounds.
      • Conducts research and prepares reports and background Information. Gathers background information and material; conducts preliminary record, hard copy, or online research to gather data and information as needed.
      • Utilize a computer, tablet, and/or cell phone with appropriate access to required applications, databases, and/or web-based platforms, daily. Adhering to protocols for completeness, timeliness, and frequency.
      • Adheres to and follows district policies and procedures, state and federal laws related to employment in a public education system.
      • Works in a flexible schedule according to need and at the discretion of the supervisor to meet the needs of families and community members.
