Laydown Unit Technician Job at Graco Oilfield Services

Summary of Position
The laydown unit technician is solely responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the laydown unit machine and associated equipment at the rig site as specified by Graco customers. He/she will operate and maintain the laydown machine to achieve the desired results in a safe and efficient manner as directed by other Graco supervisors and/or Graco customers. The laydown unit technician must have the technical expertise and physical ability that will enable him/her to operate and maintain the unit with no direct on-sight oversight or supervision.
Essential Functions
- Transport self and equipment to job site
- Spot laydown machine in the correct place at the wellsite
- Perform rig up and rig down of laydown machine
- Fill out and complete all field delivery tickets, time sheets, and repair tickets
- Visually inspect equipment before, during, and after a job to ensure field readiness and safe operation of equipment
- Safely and efficiently roll or stack tubulars
- Know and understand all Graco Policy and comply with all requirements of the safe operations of the laydown unit
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Graco
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
- When not on Approved Personal Time Off, available on a 24 hour/ 7 days per week basis to respond to customer needs
- Ensures the equipment with his/her control is maintained and repairs are carried out as required
- Requires various type and levels of job related training with respect to the operations of the equipment and company standard operating procedures and also other specialized training as required by regulatory agencies and the company
Skills/Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, be willing to submit to and able to pass, a pre-employment drug test, MVR check and criminal background check.
- Must have good knowledge of oil field and related equipment associated with operation of oil field equipment and service rig operations
