The Role
:

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the hotel and various venue’s laundry is clean and properly inventoried.


Responsibilities
:

The incumbent is responsible for

  • Washing, drying and folding clothing and linens according to company quality standards
  • Sorting items by color, weight and fabric types and making sure items are washed in the proper machine cycle
  • Ironing and steaming of items that may be required
  • Following guidelines for treating and removing stands when required
  • The general maintenance and upkeep of the machines – this includes cleaning machine filters and removing objects left inside
  • Sweeping and mopping floors periodically, wiping down machines and counters
  • Ensuring the bathroom is clean and stocked with bathroom tissue
  • Removing trash
  • Distributing linen/laundry according to company requirements
  • Coordinating duties with other hotel staff to ensure the needs of the hotel are met
  • Updating Executive Housekeeper as to linen requirements to ensure adequate inventory on hand

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Great organizational skills
  • Customer service oriented


Education and/or Experience:

  • High School/GED diploma required


Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.


Physical Requirements:


  • Requires visual acuity and ability to hear to clearly communicate with managers, coworkers, guests and vendors
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to reach with arms and hands
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have finger to hand dexterity to be able to grip, grasp items or equipment
