Position Overview
Scenic Specialties Landscape Professionals is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to become part of our Landscape Maintenance/Gardening team for the 2023 season. Workers who are hired in the Fall of 2022 will have Winter hours available with our Snow Clearing teams. Although experience is appreciated, it is not required for this position. We are happy to train the right candidates
This position involves maintaining landscapes using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following but not limited to: pruning, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing plants, spraying weeds, pulling weeds, digging, raking, mulching, cleaning ponds, troubleshooting and maintaining low voltage lighting systems, and assist the crew lead with any task necessary for maintaining elite landscaped properties.
This position would be a great fit for someone with past landscape installation experience who possesses knowledge in plant material, pond and waterfall installation, and retaining wall and paver patio installation, who cares about the upkeep of said items in order to keep a landscape looking as beautiful as the day it was installed. A professional who still enjoys the landscape industry, but may be looking to slow down a bit from the rigorous and strenuous activity of every day landscape installation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Reliable transportation required
- Proficient in operating landscaping hand tools
- Sound decision-making ability
- Assist in loading the truck with equipment, tools and materials required for the days project and ensuring that the load is secure to prevent loss or damages
- Assist with the installation of landscape edging and fabric
- Spread mulch & rock using wheelbarrows and shovels, pull weeds in shrub beds
- Assist with pruning/trimming and cleanup of plants and shrubs.
- Assist with the installation of landscape material such as sod, sprinklers, perennials, grasses, shrubs, trees, etc.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining of ponds, waterfalls, fountains
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining/repairing of low voltage lighting systems
- Operate a variety of hand or power tools and equipment
- Operate vehicles, such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site, equipment, and vehicles
- Works as a member of the team
- Unloads debris, shrubs, soil, and rock in designated areas, place equipment, tools, and unused materials in the proper storage area, gas vehicle, cover equipment, materials and tools remaining on the vehicle and/or trailer, park truck and put vehicle keys in the designated area
- Required to participate in snow clearing activities during the winter months
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in the landscaping field is desired, a high school degree or GED is preferred
- Knowledge of the English Language is desired to communicate with co-workers and the supervisor
- Pay will be dependent on experience and/or horticulture based college degree.
- Horticulturists, Gardeners, and workers within the landscape installation field looking for less physically demanding job duties within the landscape industry, are encouraged to apply
Job Site Conditions
The job site conditions described below are examples of those conditions an employee encounters while performing the essential responsibilities of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment. In addition, job sites are located on both residential and commercial property. The employee may also occasionally be exposed to the homeowner’s pets.
This position allows employees to be home every night. The majority of our work is in the Saint Cloud and surrounding areas.
Working Relationships
The employee will work closely with other members of the team and team supervisor.
Working Hours
- Wage to be determined
- Seasonal Full Time – 40+ hours per week

Salary: $18.00 to $23.00 /hour
Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications
