Job Description:

Description of Department: Facilities Services Major Projects manages the major capital projects for SUNY Oswego. In coordination with state agencies such as the New York State Construction Fund (SUCF) and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), Major Projects addresses the needs of the campus for the larger renovations, upgrades, and repairs. This department strives for equity in all aspects of its functions, diversity in the opportunities that are presented within this department, and inclusion of all people to take part in the maintenance and continual renewal of this campus.

The Department of Facilities Services at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full time Jr. Project Coordinator.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • With departmental oversight by more senior project coordinators and department leaders, the Jr. Project Coordinator shall carry out his/her duties within the guidelines of the campus, SUNY and NY State.
  • With departmental oversight and supervision; interpret, translate, and prepare customer visions into design concepts and detailed project scope requirements (ex.: narratives, summaries, drawings, specifications).
  • As a member of the departmental team, assist with the coordination of projects and programs assuring campus standards and specifications are met per the defined scope.
  • At the direction of senior project coordinators, create and execute project work including revisions as needed for the campus. Interface with personnel from other Facilities Services offices and shops, and other campus departments, to carry out this position's responsibilities.
  • Maintain regular communication with assigned project leaders. Manage moderately technical aspects of various projects.
  • Manage internal resources that contribute to this work.
  • Maintain Teamwork, Integrity, and Excellence.
  • Strong focus on Trust, Conflict Resolution, Commitment, Accountability and Results.
  • In addition, this position will be expected to display a demonstrated potential for excellence in project work, commitment to Facilities Services and support of ongoing campus projects and activities.
  • Possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Architecture Technology, Engineering, or related field by time of application
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in software systems that include Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit, Bluebeam, Sketch up, Adobe Suite, and general office equipment
  • Hand sketches and hand drawing will be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a University setting
  • eBuilder and Contract Manager knowledge a plus.
