Fenner Dunlop is looking for a Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic to join our Port Clinton manufacturing team!

As the Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic at Fenner Dunlop, you’ll perform all necessary equipment repairs, troubleshooting of equipment, equipment installations and other assignments related to the mechanical trade assigned by the facility manager.

Principal Duties

• Serves as working lead Mechanic in equipment repairs
• Overhaul and install new equipment
• Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.
• Reads and interprets work orders, drawings/blueprints to determine requirements
• Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs timely and safely
• Practice safe work habits.
• Follows proper lock out tag out procedures as required.
• Completes all OSHA required training as required and correct any unsafe conditions as necessary.
• Takes the lead and initiates resolution of technical, unusual or complex problems or issues.
• Expertise working with precision tools, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and optical and laser alignment tooling.
• Serves as the lead mechanic in training of all mechanical apprentices and new hired skill trades.
• Required to do all aspects of a mechanics responsibilities
• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Trouble-shoot and analyze causes of equipment failures and recommend solutions to problem.
• Assist in the design, specification and/or procurement of new equipment. Work with outside contractors and vendors as necessary.
• Assist in training personnel on the operation of production equipment.
• Be familiar with basic rigging techniques.
• Utilize specialized equipment to ensure repaired equipment meets manufacturer's specifications.
• Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools and equipment.
• Perform any other task deemed necessary

Required Experience/Education Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• Journeyman’s card - In the related field in lieu of Associate Degree
• Associate Degree - In the related field in lieu of Journeyman's card
• Five (5) or more years’ experience in industrial maintenance, in manufacturing setting
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and/or overtime
• Capable of being flexible and adaptable
• Routinely stand, squat, and/or work in confined spaces
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
