$12.00

JOB DETAILS:

Under the direction of the Kitchen Manager and Program Director, the cook will successfully assist with the preparation and service of meals and the implementation of the food service program. This is to be done in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and the Child and Adult Care Food Program and USDA guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare, cook, wash dishes, and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and proper storage of all equipment and the proper handling, serving and storage of all foods.
  • Performs various preparatory tasks in support of meal preparation.
  • Assists in cooking, baking, and preparing foods in accordance with recipes and directions.
  • Assist in the receiving and proper storing of food and supplies according to guidelines.
  • Sets up food serving lines and serves food during mealtimes.
  • Complies with all sanitation and safety codes.
  • Assist with serving meals according to time schedules and planned menus.
  • Assist with serving meals in an attractive manner.
  • Wears mandated attire (uniform, enclosed, skid-free shoes, hair net, and apron) manicured, short nails (free of colored nail polish) and gloves when handling food products at all times.
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the food service area and kitchen equipment.
  • Operates various machinery and equipment associated with food preparation and related department activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Please note these training programs are provided by the Organization)

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one year’s experience in preparing meals preferred.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Able to follow recipes, instructions and USDA/CACFP guidelines.
  • Demonstrate time management skills.
  • Experience in remote kitchen settings a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must display high degree of professionalism and customer service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Be able to stand for extended periods of time, walking, stooping, sitting, climbing, kneeling, hearing, seeing, lifting (up to 50lbs).
