Position Summary:

The IT Support Specialist responds to help tickets submitted by end users and works on special IT projects assigned to them. Works closely with the IT Manager and IT partners on various issues and projects. Daily interaction with end users.

Major Responsibilities -

• Manage end user requests using helpdesk ticketing system
• Rollout computers for new hires and replacement computers for existing employees
• Work closely with Dexter’s MSP for troubleshooting network issues or when working on special projects
• Communicate directly to IT vendors to troubleshoot, upgrade, or administer Dexter’s systems
• Perform upgrades of various systems including Solidworks, Minitab, DUO, and other software used at Dexter
• Use portals from IT software vendors to monitor systems, manage licenses, and administer applications
• Administer cybersecurity awareness training program and email filtering services
• Support connectivity and printing issues related to Epicor
• Manage and administer Meraki switches and access points used throughout the building
• Support Logitech conferencing equipment
• Provide technical support for company cell phones
• Maintain an inventory of hardware and software used

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT-related field such as computer science, technical support, and information technology
• 5+ years in computer networks solutions, operating systems, or other IT-related positions
• AA CompTIA A+ certification for computer technology (exclusions may apply, particularly for web-development computer technicians)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Proficiency in the following technologies: Active Directory, Microsoft O365, DUO/MFA, Meraki switches and APs, Teams, Logitech Conferencing, cloud concepts, cybersecurity foundations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to support end users in a professional manner
• Ability to work on a wide range of issues in each workday
• Attention to detail
