IT - Back-End Java Developer Job at Federated Mutual Insurance Company
As a back-end Java Developer, you will design, develop and maintain software systems and services in support of our business applications. We are seeking innovative, highly motivated software developers with a minimum of 1 year of professional experience developing back-end solutions in Java, C#, or other object-oriented platforms. This is an in-person position, working in a collaborative team environment in our Southern Minnesota headquarters.
The ideal candidate for this role possesses a passion for using technology to solve business challenges, the highest level of integrity, and a strong initiative and drive. Experience with the following technology stack is preferred; however, training will be provided for those that meet our minimum qualifications.
- Spring Framework
- Git w/ADO
- Unit Testing Frameworks (JUnit)
- Relational Databases
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate requirements into efficient and maintainable code.
- Create and/ or modify programs to adapt to changes in needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with and inform various stakeholders of progress and issues related to assigned work.
- Provide support for existing systems and services.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the insurance business to identify innovative tactical and strategic opportunities and implement solutions to improve systems, processes and services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year degree with a preferred major in a computer-related field, mathematics, or business; or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of professional experience in all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation, with a focus on back-end development.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build successful working relationships in a team environment.
- An unquestioned ability to retain confidential business and personnel information.
