GENERAL FUNCTION AND JOB DUTIES
The interior design program is a two-year, professional degree program that leads to an Associates of Science in Interior Design degree. The program combines lecture and studio courses and is a balance of theoretical and pragmatic approaches with an emphasis on hands-on experiences in both labs and studios. Environmental responsibility in design is a focus of the program and is woven holistically throughout the curriculum.
Students have the option to complete an internship between the second year, which often leads to full-time employment.
The Program of Interior Design offers various pathways such as an associate degree, two diploma options and 2 certificate options. Students acquire the skills necessary to envision solutions from concept to prototypes through experiential learning. There are two transfer tracks currently in place for students who have completed the interior design program to obtain a four-year degree - UNC Greensboro and Western Carolina.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, evenings and weekends
Work Hours: 40 Hours

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Interior Design or related field and one year of industry related work experience in the field or an industry related certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
- Teaching experience in a community college or university setting
- Two years of interior design professional experience
- Official transcripts and college diplomas must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Higher degrees earned in the discipline or related field may substitute for other required
- Licenses and/or certifications used for credentialing purposes are to remain current by
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- A completed Central Piedmont application must be completed on-line.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary for this position is $45,349 - $56,713. Pay grade for this position is AS. Initial placement for new employees is customarily at entry level through 25% percentile. Contract type is Faculty/Librarian. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, evening and weekend assignments may be required of any position. All positions are subject to budget approval.
