Insurance Claim Specialist Job at Advanced Dental Center
Job Summary:
At Advanced Dental Center, Dr. Joseph Griffin and our other dentists want you to keep your smile for life! We've been operating at the same location for 27 years in an office Dr. Griffin built with his father. During that time, we've doubled in size – and we're still growing! This position is responsible for working outstanding insurance claims and managing accounts receivable.
Essential Duties:
- Enter insurance breakdowns into our software system ( Eaglesoft )
- Calling and verifying dental coverage for our patients
- Track and resolve insurance aging report
- Resubmit denied and rejected claims with appropriate/corrected information through coordination with manager
- Handle the appeal of denied claims by coordinating with clinical team on outstanding items
- Handle credit balance report monthly, investigating credits to assure accuracy; provide credit requests to manager for patient refunds, where applicable
- Provide support to manager as an additional point of contact for questions regarding billing, accounts, and insurance related concerns
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred
- Past experience working in Eaglesoft practice management software highly desired
- Strong understanding of the accounts receivable life cycle
- Previous experience in dental billing preferred
- A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills
- Committed to providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
Education / Experience:
- Associates degree preferred; HS Diploma/ GED Equivalent required.
- Hands-on experience working in accounts receivable and insurance billing 2+ years preferred
