Instructional Assistant Job at Gilmore Memorial Preschool, Inc.
Basic Function
Responsible for assisting the teacher in facilitating daily curriculum lessons/activities and assessments for the students. Must adhere to NAEYC's Code of Ethics and Gilmore Memorial Preschool's Confidentiality Clause.
Responsibilities
1. Must have at least 60 college credits, associates, or bachelor's degree
2. Must be inspired to be a teacher
3. Must be computer-literate
4. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with faculty, students, parents, administrators, and the community
5. Maintain a healthy, safe, clean, and loving environment.
6. Ability to greet children and parents/guardians enthusiastically each day.
7. Interact with children through instructional methods coordinating activities to include Development and Learning: Social-Emotional Development, Physical Development, Language Development, and Cognitive Development. Literacy, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, and The Arts.
8. Assist with weekly observations and assessments by the classroom teacher and administrative guidelines.
9. Assist children as necessary to enhance learning skills and help complete assigned projects.
10. Assist the teacher in maintaining a climate in the classroom and implementing the educational curriculum.
11. Participate in the assessment reports in a timely fashion (ESI-P/ ESI-K,
My Teaching Strategies Assessment Tools/Progress Reports and Parent Conferences).
12. Monthly notifications submitted to supervisors of classroom field trips, extra-curricular, school
closings, menu, cleaning, checklist, etc.
13. Remain aware of each child's academic progress, talents, special abilities, disabilities, deficiencies, or problems.
14. Monitor classroom bulletin boards for updated compilations of a child's artwork (each piece of
artwork should have name, date, literacy, and multimedia).
15. Attend in-service training, conferences, staff meetings, community events, membership meetings, and parent/guardian meetings as required.
16. Attend parent conflict resolution meetings and submit the agenda/minutes accordingly.
17. Promote and foster all students' positive self-esteem and individual development towards their fullest potential in physical, social-emotional, and cognitive growth.
18. Maintain classroom and storage areas, materials, and orderly manner, with a pictorial to identify
it's location.
19. Assist children with general hygiene practices, including bathroom and cleanliness needs.
20. Assist in the planning and preparation of lesson plans.
21. Share pertinent information, suggestions, or ideas with co-workers regularly.
22. Maintain a positive interpersonal relationship with all children, fellow staff, parents, and guardians.
23. Perform general classroom cleaning duties, including sweeping the floor after meals, cleaning costs, and sanitizing toys and manipulatives.

Pay: $28,289.00 - $37,510.00 per year
