Description

The City of Thousand Oaks has an exciting opportunity for an Information Technology Analyst I/II to join a progressive and enthusiastic technology team. We are seeking a collaborative and innovative individual with an eagerness to learn. The individual will assist in administration, maintenance, and support of the City’s ERP and departmental applications, and various Access databases.

The Information Technology Analyst I/II must provide exemplary customer service and be willing to learn new technology and applications. This vacancy will be filled at either the I or II level depending on qualifications and experience.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to staff
  • Assists in evaluating application requests and prepares appropriate recommendations
  • Participate in routine analysis, design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the City's computing systems
  • Maintain and develop new features in existing applications
  • Troubleshoot programs to correct error and improve efficiency
  • Preform routine report writing and data extraction
  • Respond to inquiries and requests to provide technical assistance to City staff.
  • Support and maintain City software systems
  • Provide exemplary and responsive customer service
  • Effectively manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and concurrent projects with frequent interruptions

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in computer science, management information systems or a closely related field.
  • SQL server administration and query experience
  • SQL Server Reporting Services experience
  • Access database experience
  • Excel programming/macros experience
  • API development and system integrations
  • IIS experience
  • Basic server and networking experience
  • Excellent software and application troubleshooting skills.
  • Technical project lead experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communicationskills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff or end users.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of staff.
  • A valid Class C driver's license

IT Analyst I ($40.6583 - $60.9875):

  • One year or more of technical experience in application administration, maintenance, and user support.

IT Analyst II ($44.9230 - $67.3845):

  • Two years’ or more of progressively responsible technical experience in application administration, maintenance, and user support.
