This work will take place at various grain storage and milling facilities located throughout the Midwest and in North Carolina. This position will require travel to all locations. Typically, this travel occurs Monday-Friday with being home most weekends. Occasional work over weekends, although rare, does occur.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Installation of rigid conduit (Bending and threading)
- Pulling of wire into raceways
- Termination of wire at components
- Installation of motor drive devices (Soft start, VFD, full voltage)
- Troubleshooting of 480-volt 3-phase electrical distribution systems
- Troubleshooting of control systems
- Installation of PLC and user interfaces
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment
- Network termination of fiber optic and copper cables
- Build industrial control panels from schematics
- Upgrading of outdated systems and components
- Understand Arc Flash ratings and recommended practices
- Prioritize tasks with the supervisor
- Coordinate and monitor outside contractors if under your supervision.
- Recommend changes, modifications, or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance.
- Update projects list and write reports with use of PC
- Take responsibility for safe work behavior
- Properly maintain work areas and company issued property
- Company provided vehicle for travel to and from home to work sites will be provided in some instances.
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of industrial electrical experience
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
- Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
- This job can be physically strenuous
- You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
- You will work at heights
- You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
- This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders
- You will be required to wear PPE
