Requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, DEP, EPA, Hazmat, and federal, state, and local employment laws
- Able to motivate performance in safety, learning, teamwork, growth, and engagement
- Prior leadership experience
- Proficient in computer technology including Word, Excel, e-mail, and Power Point
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Valid drivers license, access to a motor vehicle and capacity to travel
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related discipline preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
Responsibility
- Human Resources Management
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Human Resources function including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, payroll, safety, training, development, and performance management
- Establish and implement programs that effectively communicate and support Shipley Energys values, vision, and mission and improve the organizations culture and performance
- Oversee and provide ongoing measurement and analysis of our organizational health by sharing trends in team member satisfaction, attrition, and other key metrics
- Cultivate and implement culture improving initiativesidentify opportunities and solutions to make workplace better for an engaged and motivated workforce
- Perform advance, diversified, and confidential administrative duties requiring broad experience and knowledge of the organization, policies, and practices
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, monitoring and communicating pending and/or potential regulatory changes
- Ensure an integrated and consistent performance management system to ensure focus on goals, team member development, and organizational performance to include initiate and track progress of annual and semi-annual Team Member feedback check-ins
- Work with managers to ensure a fair and consistent compensation system that rewards profit and performance
- Implement procedures and technology solutions to improve Human Resources data management
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Build and foster cooperative relationships with other departments within the organization to stay informed and abreast of HR issues, new initiatives, products, and services
- Develop and create a highly engaged workforce
- Develop and manage annual budget for the department and lines of insurance
- Manage negotiations with team members represented by the collective bargaining unit
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned by the Executive Vice President
Recruiting- Collaborate with HR Generalist with talent acquisition responsibility to develop recruiting and talent plans and strategies to support the achievement of the companys growth and business objectives
- Coordinate and maintain integrity in the hiring process to include recruiting, screening, interviewing, pre-employment physicals, and background checks
- Recruit, develop and invest in the highest performing talent
Payroll- Oversee the organizations payroll processing, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations
- Collaborate with HR Generalist with payroll responsibility to design short-term and long-term strategies for continuous improvement in payroll functions
- Ensure payroll practices are processed in accordance with established policies and procedures along with all compliance requirements
- Ensure daily payroll processing and ensure proper checks and balances with all transactions
Safety & EHS- Promote and ensure effective safety and environmental operations in the organization
- Collaborate with Safety & Environmental Manager in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
- Promote a safe workplace culture
- Benefit Administration
- Manage the policies, premiums, and claims of health, benefit, workers compensation, fleet, liability, property, and umbrella insurance policies
- Complete benefit cost analysis with recommendations for any changes
- Facilitate regular benefit and compensation plan evaluations including plan analysis, review, and communications
