We are in search of a HR Generalist/Senior Generalist (internally known as an HR Advisor/Senior HR Advisor) to join our Human Resources department in Spokane, Washington. This full-time position reports to the Director-Talent Management and HR Operations and is accountable for providing direct internal customer support services in a variety of disciplines, with a focus on leave administration, compliance and HR systems administration.

The base salary range for this position is $66,000 - $98,000; bonus at target is 10% of salary

Job Requirements

  • Leave Administration
    • Work with team members to administer leave programs; handle complex or unique leave scenarios and provide functional oversight of routine leave administration performed by other HR team members.
    • Administer the accommodation request process, including ADA, non-ADA and Worker's Compensation requests.
  • Compliance/Audit
    • Collaborate with HR team to ensure effective administration of HR internal controls and audit processes.
    • Monitor and analyze employment laws within AgWest’s operating territory, coordinating with manager and other HR team members to review, revise, or elevate as appropriate.
    • Responsible for Affirmative Action Plan completion and reporting, EEO-1 and other compliance reporting. Assist in preparation of annual summary materials for management review.
  • System and Process Administration
    • Manage vendor relationships in collaboration with user subject matter experts to include selection processes, implementation, contract renewals and regular reviews.
    • Collaborate with technology and HR service request fulfillers to administer and support use of the HR service request portal.
    • Support HR department leadership to evaluate HR systems’ effectiveness in meeting organizational needs and support the design of improvements.
    • Partner with system vendors and internal IT team to troubleshoot system and performance issues.
  • Intranet and Collaboration Channels
    • Assist with and coordinate content management and scheduling in collaboration with subject matter experts for posting on internal communications channels to promote resources and share information on HR initiatives.
    • Administer tracking system for select HR communications via various channels working with team members having oversight for each HR workstream.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment and navigate ambiguous situations
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with external vendors
  • Progressively responsible and relevant HR experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate consistent, effective communication skills to build trusted advisor status.
  • Ability to create written communication that is concise and appropriate to context.

Preferred Requirements

  • Compliance experience
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification
