SUMMARY

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, office, and clerical functions under close supervision to support the Human Resources Department. The HR Assistant follows verbal and written directions to complete standard routine tasks such as maintaining and updating files, organizing statistical information, data entry, and responding to employee inquiries.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance as needed with professionalism and kindness.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of policies and use sound judgement and urgency to route complex questions and issues to the appropriate resource and follow up to ensure issue resolution in a timely manner.
  • Enter and maintain information (such as temporary agency employees, regular employees, and independent contractors) in the HRIS system and badge system timely.
  • Assist in executing company functions such as company lunches, etc.
  • Act as point person between the company and its vendors.
  • Prepare responses for verification of employment, jury duty summons, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Reporting experience; advanced Excel knowledge such as VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, functions, etc.
  • Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Sound judgement and discretion to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Successful experience building relationships and providing support to multiple levels of management within an organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in HR or a relevant field. One to three years experience in Human Resources is preferred.
