Description:

The College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) seeks to hire a full-time Human Resources (HR) Associate. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$85,000 annually. This position offers a hybrid remote work environment, based on the operational needs of the department.


Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Administrative Operations, the position performs program/operational and human resources activities that are devoted to a particular activity or specialized area in Pharmacy Practice Human Resources. This person will be responsible for maintaining, organizing and carrying out administrative functions directly related to the day-to-day activities of the unit.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for internal and external communications, data management and performs operational support functions for the Human Resource Team.
  • Responsible for all activities related to logistical planning and leading the content development for HR hosted/sponsored orientation, onboarding/separations, manager training sessions, meetings, search / interview processes.
  • Supports HR Team with HR processes, including Civil Service, Academic Professional, and Faculty searches. May include assisting with composing job descriptions in consultation with department head / unit director, writing and posting advertising copy, creating offer letters from standardized legal templates.
  • Initiate, review and route HR transactions and HR related processes including, but not limited to employment transactions, payroll and payroll problem resolution, searches/waivers, job descriptions and other HR generalist duties.
  • Serves are primary coordinator and contact for GoTime related issues. Assists with Leave Coordination and prepares draft leave letters (FMLA, Disability, Accommodation Requests, Special Leaves).
  • Functions as primary contact person for assigned units in tracking annual compliance reporting (Ethics, RNUA, HIPAA, licensure, certification, vaccination, etc.).
  • Serve as unit security contact.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
  • Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.

Ability to manage projects and deadlines from initiation to completion under minimal supervision; excellent judgment in decision-making situations; ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; attention to detail, organizational skills, strong customer service focus, proactive, self-motivated, and follow-through.
