Job Summary

The Urban League of Greater has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our growing team. Responsibilities will include talent acquisition and other HR-related functions essential to developing and implementing effective strategies for recruitment, employee engagement, systems, compliance, and practices.

Essential Functions

  • Participated with the HR Team in the full talent acquisition process.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions.
  • Conduct onboarding and exit interviews.
  • Manage HR technology to support the overall function.
  • Responsible for data management and reporting
  • Support an effective employee engagement strategy.
  • Jointly develop and maintain HR policies and employee handbook.
  • Respond to general employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Consult legal counsel to ensure the organization follows federal and state policies and practices as required.
  • Conduct employee investigations and reports.
  • Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations upon request.
  • Prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
  • Supports the administration of ULGA COVID-19 Policy
  • Participate in agency events as requested.

  • Knowledge of current human resource laws and regulations

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor in Human Resources or Business Management or a related field
  • 4 - 6 years experience as an HR generalist or HR business partner; strong recruiting experience
  • SHRM/HRCI Certification desired

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs on occasion. Able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Expected Work Hours

The position is Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Travel

Travel to meetings and conference is minimal

Background screenings are conducted before employment.
