Job Description:

  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager and supervisor with the coordination of the housekeeping department.
  • Identify room assignments and type of cleaning required for each room.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, pool, etc. after being cleaned by Housekeeper to ensure quality standards.
  • Complete checklists to report cleanliness and condition of each assigned area/room.
  • Monitor each Housekeeper's daily progress in the cleaning of guest rooms as follows: carts are stocked and organized, guest amenities and supplies are restocked in rooms, dirty linens and terry replaced with clean items, beds made, terry folded, bathrooms cleaned, trash, dirty linen, and room service items have been removed, all appliances are present in the room and in working order, desk items, furniture, and appliances are straightened, furnishing are dusted and polished, and marks from walls and furnishings are removed, carpets vacuumed and other floor care duties have been completed (e.g., in guest rooms and hallway).
  • When needed, perform the daily functions of a Housekeeper by cleaning rooms as noted above.
  • Run sold room reports, verify room statuses, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms.
  • Act as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
  • Verify that nothing is missing from orders upon arrival and that all items are in good condition.
  • Follow proper Lost and Found procedures and keep the lost and found item log up to date.
  • Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.
  • Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments.
  • Communicate issues to next shift.
  • Complete required Housekeeping paperwork.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other hotel departments.
  • Enter guest rooms by following proper procedure; ensure vacancy before entering.
