Essential Job Functions
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain all residence halls at a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
Housekeeping staff are responsible for the proper maintenance and appearance of residence hall public areas such as lobbies, lounges, hallways, stairwells and elevators.
Housekeepers also clean and sanitize bathrooms, distribute supplies, sweep, mop and wax floors.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Ability to perform a variety of duties to include all aspects of cleaning such as;
- dusting,
- sweeping,
- mopping,
- window cleaning,
- carpet cleaning,
- operation of floor maintenance equipment,
- stripping & waxing floors,
- trash removal,
- restroom sanitation,
- supply ordering, etc.
Basic computer skills such as communicating through email, ordering online supplies, submitting work order requests.
Communicating with fellow workers, guests and students in a manner that allows work to be completed and insures harmony and teamwork in the workplace; demonstrating knowledge of safety hazards; and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial housekeeping,
- using Green Cleaning products,
- working on a team,
- using floor maintenance equipment,
- computer skills.
