Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, the Housekeeper maintains assigned areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner. This role performs facilities maintenance duties including but not limited to dusting, mopping, laundry, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms. Position will be required to rotate duties and travel to all Community Hospice facilities near the main location.

• Thoroughly cleans all assigned patient rooms, departments and Community Hospice facilities in accordance with Community Hospice’s established cleaning and sanitary procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of clean linens for patients by laundering and sanitizing of soiled linens, when scheduled for laundry rotation.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Provides emergency cleaning of corridor carpets
• Provides assistance during emergency situations as outlined in the facilities fire and disaster plans.
• Adheres to all infection control and isolation procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Understands and demonstrates proper usage of all cleaning chemicals in accordance with the MSDS product standards and Community Hospice procedures
