Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Guest Services Agent's to join our exceptional team at a competitive pay rate ($11-13/HR) including benefits (PTO, Vacation, Holiday and Health Insurance) for Full-Time associates.

The Guest Services Agent is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction through check in and check out. The position will also be responsible for optimizing each guest’s experience by promoting hotel services, facilities and outlets as well as providing information of upcoming events/functions in the hotel and surrounding area.

Essential Functions

  • Registers guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible
  • Assists in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations
  • Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit, check and cash handling policies and procedures
  • Knows room locations, types of rooms available and room rates
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel
  • Prepare, set up, stock, take down, clean and provide quality beverages and food products consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Be familiar and knowledgeable of the operation of the POS system
  • Assist guests with food orders and serve food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, professional and timely manner as well as using suggestive selling techniques
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment for guests by clearing tables during service
  • Be responsible for the complete guest experience to include the Gallery Host Stand, the Bakery Café, Guest Kitchen, e-room and the TV den, guest check-in and out and the servicing of the meeting rooms.
  • Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests and day use rooms
  • Possesses a working knowledge of reservations procedures. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures
  • Proficient in how to use front office equipment and the property management system
  • Processes guest check-ins, check-outs and performs cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts and issuing paid outs etc.
  • Ability to use problem resolution techniques concerning guest issues and escalate to management when appropriate for guest recovery
  • Uses proper telephone etiquette
  • Uses proper mail, package and message handling procedures.
  • Reads and initials the pass-on log daily, checks the bulletin board and is well aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel
  • Attends departmental meetings
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
  • Responds to all guests, co-workers, vendors and visitors in a professional, friendly and courteous manner at all times
  • Complies with attendance rules and is available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One year previous experience in a similar position in a select service hotel preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be of the legal age to pour and serve alcohol
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and work weekends
  • Requires strong command of the English language including speaking, reading and writing
