Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic Job at Hal Hays Construction, Inc.
We are looking for a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to work on the yellow iron at our equipment yard in Yucaipa, CA.
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Maintaining & repairing all yellow iron (heavy equipment) – CAT, John Deere, etc.
- Will be working on all engines (gas & diesel), transmissions, hydraulics, etc.
- Will be using service manuals and schematics to set up and perform repairs
- Fill‐up, control and update the maintenance records on daily basis
- Follow direction of the Yard Manager with regards to daily production schedule and activities
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Must have CAT SIS Program & Diagnostic skills
- Welding experience a plus
- Own set of mechanic tools is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ lbs.
- Walking/Standing/Bending for long periods of time
- Perform strenuous physical labor in outdoor elements
- Required to have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Required to pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check
