Pay Range: $25.25 to $27.11

Position Summary:

The Health Services Manager is responsible for overall direction and administration of nutrition, health, and safety services. This includes supervision of the Food Services Supervisors, Health Specialist, and Health Services Aide. The Health Services Manager reports to the Early Care and Education Director and serves as a member of the administrative team.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure updates to and monitoring of the agency's Emergency Preparedness and Response plan
  • Ensure regular, ongoing data-focused monitoring of health services
  • Analyze data to determine program needs and inform course corrections
  • Identify and engage community resources that enhance health safety, and nutritional offerings and ongoing partnerships
  • Ensure adequate screening, referral, and support of children and families with disabilities
  • Ensure quality meal offerings while controlling cost
  • Ensure health services staff have the resources, training, and supervision needed to optimize their performance
  • Participate in monthly Policy Council meetings, providing written reports and oral account of program updates
  • Ensure compliance with Bauer Policies, State Licensing, and Head Start Program Performance Standards, and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
  • Organize and deliver staff meetings, monthly Professional Development Days, and annual Pre-Service Attend administrative meetings and All-Agency meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass routine background checks.

Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, health and fitness, child development, or other related field
  • Must have a valid Indiana driver's license and the ability to meet minimum insurance carrier requirements at all times.

Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years previous related experience
  • 3-5 years previous supervisory experience

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Commitment to serving children and families in poverty with the highest quality services
  • Willingness to learn and apply new knowledge
  • Ability to coach, educate, and mentor others
  • Strong connection with the community and ability to maintain positive relationships
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organization and time management
  • Strong math skills
