The Head Start/Early Head Start Health and Disabilities Supervisor supports a team of Health and Disability Data technicians through daily engagement, communication, and empathy to ensure data gathering, inputting, investigation, and evaluation of program documents for quality assurance. This role is responsible for oversight of data quality, analyzing health records and child screenings and monitoring health outcomes for family and children to promote family wellbeing.

  • Maintains high quality standards in health, safety and disability procedures and processes
  • Assist in facilitation of collaboration between Head Start/Early Head Start and Early Intervention programs, community agencies, partners, and physicians
  • Monitors data inputted by data technicians for timeliness, accuracy, and quality
  • Establishes and implements a system of management of the health and safety procedures and processes according to Head Start Performance Standards
  • Possesses and demonstrates strong working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards
  • Facilitates the functioning of the Health Services Advisory Councils for all grants
  • Tracks current medical status of EHS and Head Start children, ensuring staff are aware of health needs requiring follow up
  • Monitors health and special needs data from Child Plus
  • Communicates with supervisors regarding health requirements needing addressed
  • Monitors and reviews health information on file for the identification, referral, and implementation process for children with suspected or determined special needs
  • Reviews health surveys, prenatal, post-partum and newborn assessments for families enrolled in program
  • Collaborates with staff to establish health plans for children with chronic health problems or conditions
  • Coordinates program reports and data on health and disabilities to ensure program meets Head Start standards
  • Accepts and willingly carries out special assignments, as directed by Family and Community Engagement Manager
  • Direct supervision of Health and Disability Data Technicians
  • Mentors and trains staff in developmental screenings, health requirements and nutrition services
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving timecards of staff supervised as outlined in policy
  • Assures staff hours entered in timekeeping system are accurate when compared to staffing schedules. Responsible for assuring all overtime hours worked were pre-authorized and approved.
  • Completes performance appraisals annually and monitors personnel issues for employees supervised
  • Communicates with Family and Community Engagement Manager regarding areas of concerns, status and needs of the program
  • Follows the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Code of Ethical Conduct
  • Completes training as stated by CHS policy HRD-P-022 – Training
  • Responsible for promoting a positive Safety Culture is expected and necessary to make CHS a safe place in which to work. Safe work practices and policies for this position shall be reviewed and followed

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Early Care and Education, Health Management, Special Education, or related field plus five years of related work experience. Previous supervisory experience is required; strong leadership qualities, personnel management, and outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must obtain Class E driver’s license within 30 days of starting
  • Must provide proof of personal valid vehicle insurance
  • TB Assessment and/or requirements
  • Background screening to include fingerprinting is required

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of Child plus
  • Experience in data monitoring processes.

SHIFTS: FT (35 hrs.) Mon-Fri: 8:30am-4:30pm

PAY RANGE: $16.91 - $22.11/hr.
