Head of Location Based Entertainment
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Creates strategic plan for new and existing location based entertainment partners to achieve financial metrics/growth targets. Explores and negotiates new opportunities across the LBE landscape inclusive of licensed CE contracts. Sets operational standards and policies and provides direct guidance and assistance to licensed LBE partners on day-to-day activities. This position provides input for strategic issues and initiatives for licensed and owned Crayola Experiences.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for delivering annual and 3 year financial targets and determining optimal business models to achieve revenue and EBIT goals.
- Develop plans for the expansion of location based entertainment opportunities, drive acquisition and negotiation of partnerships, and create business models to extend the brand through experiential venues across all 5 sectors of the global LBE marketplace: Theme parks & attractions, Retail & recreation, Hotel & hospitality, Live Events, Museums & enrichment venues.
- Key sales strategies for new projects and roll out strategies for launched projects based on market reaction.
- Strategizes with licensees to modify business approaches to further revenue growth
- Ensures a robust pipeline of new business, drive acquisition and negotiations with new partners, and develop business models to expand the Crayola LBE footprint globally.
- Negotiates large scale strategic partnerships with major LBE operators and developers
- Ensures partners have optimal plans for funding, operations and marketing.
- Develop strategies for LBE international growth, identify target territories and partners for expansion.
- Directs the planning and execution, ensuring licensee development meets the intent of design as negotiated in the license agreement, and that development and construction is in compliance with the contract terms
- Partners with CE/LBE senior leadership to identify and negotiate new licensed CE contracts with global partners.
- Develops innovative products and experiences that thoughtfully extended the brand with an emphasis on enhancing and evolving the guest/fan/consumers experience.
- Sets operational standards and ensures all selected locations adhere to strict quality and safety guidelines.
- Ensures ongoing program elements are maintained to quality specs as outlined in contract.
- Align stakeholders, departmental leaders and key partners to cross leverage experiences, media content, interactive, promotions and sponsorships, and consumer products.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- BA or BS degree preferred
- Minimum 10+ years-experience in Marketing, business development or brand development in the location based entertainment industry
- Active network of strong relationships with designers, developers and operators in the global Location Based Entertainment industry
- Skilled at working in a collaborative fashion within a corporate environment to achieve company’s growth goals
- Strong ability to influence, negotiate and problem solve complex project development and production challenges
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit, leadership & judgement skills and proven track record of delivering growth
- Strong strategic agility. Can create and articulate a clear and inspiring vision to internal and external constituencies
- Strong negotiator with the ability to create win/win scenarios while maximizing returns and protecting the company’s interest.
- Solid base of project management capability and ability to drive multiple concurrent projects and priorities to completion effectively and to quality standards.
- Management of key content and product development partnerships from identification, contracting and performance outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in completing projects requiring technical analysis and decision making.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty having the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively to deliver the company’s objectives.
- Able to customize / create sales presentations and other materials as needed
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- PC knowledge (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel).
- Able to work independently.
- Travel 30%-50%, travel to meet with customers and field-based teams required.
