Job Description:
KCU is seeking an experienced full-time graphic designer as an integral member of the University Relations team. The graphic designer will develop outstanding visual communications that will convey the University’s brand and mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create engaging internal and external visual communications, to include: print, digital, photo and video assets; web and social graphics; email communications; advertising materials and more
- Appropriately convey the University’s brand identity in all materials and consistently meet all brand and style standards
- Collaborate with the University Relations team to identify solutions through creative marketing strategies and initiatives
- Maintain an accurate and current library of digital assets and project archives (to include both working files and finished materials)
- Help manage, organize and maintain logos, images, art, etc
- Assist in University events throughout the year through both creative and general support
- Manage print projects by working closely with print vendors in obtaining estimates and production timelines
- Ensure projects are on budget and meet the standards of the University and its brand
- Keep up with current design trends, techniques, vendors, products and capabilities
Qualifications
- Possess a strong understanding of how to build designs for print and digital formats
- Production experience working closely with printers, to include pre-flighting projects for print, managing tight deadlines and working closely with printer to ensure timely delivery
- Knowledge of the printing process, selecting paper stock and setting up files both small and large scale. Able to review and proof projects for accuracy and consistency before final delivery
- Work well under time-constraints within a team setting or individually
- Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, customer service, project and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro and email layout (Constant Contact). Photography, video editing and writing a plus
- Ability to shoot and edit still and video photography
- Copywriting skills a plus
