GIS Designer Job at CHR Solutions

CHR Solutions Remote

The Designer is responsible for the Fiber to the X (FTTX) desk design in AutoCAD. Incumbent is responsible for creating a FTTX design. The design includes a base map with plat information, placing telecommunication fiber components, completing data entry into a fiber assignment system, overlaying a sheet grid with a key map and legend. Incumbent will successfully meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices.


Essential Functions

  • Create a GIS base map to include plat information, lot numbers, streets, and utility easements.
  • Placement of fiber and related components based on design methods.
  • Complete fiber assignments.
  • Create staking sheets with construction notes utilizing a grid layout.
  • Adhere to design practices.
  • Follow new and revised policies and procedures affecting the department.
  • Develop and maintain technical competencies as defined by departmental management.
  • Provide services in a professional manner, adhering to all CHR Solutions standards as identified in the Employee Handbook, the performance evaluation system, and other company and departmental programs and policies.
  • Identify, meet and/or exceed expectations within defined parameters related to delivery of services, quality, revenue, and goals.
  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management, and based on the needs of the business.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education

  • A vocational degree /technical degree or equivalent AutoCAD training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.


Experience

  • 1 Year experience with GIS.
  • 1 Year experience in AutoCAD.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to effectively utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Basic Telecommunications Outside Plant (OSP) knowledge is a plus.
