2:13 FULL-TIME CUSTODIAN

REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE AND CUSTODIAL DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • *Certificate of good health, signed by a licensed physician
  • *Ability to life 40 lbs. or more on a regular basis
  • *Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
  • *Satisfactory criminal background check
  • *Satisfactory completion of immigration and child abuse forms
  • *Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL:

To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeps building and premises including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times.
  • Shovels, plows and sands walks, driveways, parking areas and steps as appropriate
  • Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
  • Keeps the grounds free from rubbish
  • Performs such yard keeping chores as grass cutting, tree trimming, and the like, as necessary, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition
  • Keeps all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation
  • Cleans and maintains building as instructed by the Maintenance and Custodial Director
  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, drinking fountains and other building areas as often as needed
  • Makes such building repairs as he/she is capable
  • Reports to Maintenance and Custodial Director major building repairs or other repairs he/she is not capable of
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and use the machines/tools in the maintenance and custodial department
  • Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep and repair
  • Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the Maintenance and Custodial Director
  • Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish and waste
  • Work hours must be flexible to the needs of the School District. Generally scheduled 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.)
  • Remains on premises during school hours and non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required which may include weekends.
  • Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off
  • Detail oriented towards cleaning

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Twelve-month year.
  • Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
  • Follows Support Staff Handbook

EVALUATION:

  • Probationary: 45 to 90 days
  • Non-probationary: Annually

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
