Summary:
This position is to provide the highest quality food preparation, plate presentation and prompt service to all residents at Hampton Manor. Being able to process general knowledge of and demonstrate proficiency in various food preparation techniques, serving methods, portion control standards, and general nutritional requirements for residents of Hampton Manor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all dietary services relating to the diet needs of residents.
- Be comfortable recommending or suggesting a variety of menu options of residents.
- Promptly discuss and resolve any potential food service and coordination issues with the Dining Director.
- Work alongside the Dining Manager to effectively maintain record of inventory. This includes restocking items when necessary.
- Be familiar with and comply with all state and local health department practices, safety practices and infection control.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, and customer service with all residents and other Hampton Manor team members. Remaining caring and polite during duration of shift.
- Under the direction and supervision of the Dining Manager, prepare soup, sauces, salads, and desserts according to pre-established standards and recipes. Prepare all regular and special menu items for all meals occurring during a scheduled shift.
- Clean and maintain the work area as assigned by the Dining Manager, including cleaning dirty dishes. Must be able to follow correct sanitation procedures when preparing food and washing dishes.
- Label and effectively date all food being stored. Secure and lock all walk-in storages, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Must be able to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform other tasks that may be required from time to time by the management of the community.
General
- Ability to meal plan
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of cooking or related experience
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- An interest and willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative in developing cooking skills relating to the nutritional needs of the elderly.
- Good communication, verbal and written skills'

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)
- Restaurant Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
