Fuel Dock Attendant Job at Freeland Management
Moss Marina is looking for dock attendant to join our team!!!!!
Responsibilities
- Assisting large boats docking and undocking (in unfavorable wind and current situations).
- Securing water and electrical supply to boats as required. Check dock lines and utility supplies as necessary during changing weather conditions.
- Assist in helping customers fueling boats within safety requirements and assistance with taking on of supplies, water, battery charging, etc. (knowledge of proper fuel, oils, etc., essential). Customer must fuel his/her own boat, the fuel dock attendant only assist customer where needed.
- Maintaining Marina docks, equipment, grounds in such a manner that they are aesthetically at best.
- Assistance as required in general Marina maintenance and repairs. (alertness for safety related repairs or needs, essential).
- Assistance as assigned in hurricane or storm preparation.
- Know applications of radio, hurricane, storm, fire, first aid, freeze and fuel/oil spill procedures.
- Know live bait keeping procedures and laws.
- Knowledge of Marina regulations and enforcement procedures
- Must be responsible individuals who will present themselves well to the boaters since they will have the most contact with the boaters and public.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Marina Management.
- Contacting your supervisor or the Office when supplies are running low.
- Cleaning and maintaining fuel pier store, supplies, and equipment.
- Continual wash downs of the fuel pier to prevent fuel build-up and trash.
- Rubbish cans are to be emptied before the end of your shift.
- Smoking is prohibited by Employees and customers on the fuel pier.
- Shoes and shirts must be worn by employees at all times.
- Horseplay will result in disciplinary action.
- Teamwork is essential on the fuel pier. Employees are not to sit around while someone else is doing the work.
- Your supervisors are responsible for your work; assist them whenever possible. Insubordination will not be tolerated.
- Proper and prompt assistance in tying up all boats must be maintained for quality service. Going the extra inch to help a boater is impressive to the customer. Do not take it for granted that they can do it themselves.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Marina Management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to swim; know man overboard procedures; CPR and basic first aid trained.
- Pleasant personality and ability to get along with customers, co-workers and harbor officers.
- Experience handling boats; some marina dock experience preferred.
- At minimum: Coast Guard or Power Squadron Certification.
Work Schedule
Hours are to be scheduled by operation manager, depending upon the season. Normally works weekends and holidays in boating season; on call for all emergencies and storms.
