JOB TITLE: Front Operations Manager

REPORTING STRUCTURE: Front Operations Manager will coordinate with the Building Engineer, Association Manager, and a designated Executive Board liaison to provide guest services and building maintenance.
EXEMPTION STATUS: This position is exempt from overtime.
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for supervising the front desk and bellman staff to perform guest services, cleaning, and janitorial services of the building. The position will also support the building engineer with staff and clerical support to maintain the physical plant. Front Operations Manager will assist and use the resources of homeowner rental, housekeeping, and maintenance services to provide guest and owner services.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guest Services include but are not limited to: staff the front desk, communicate with Snowshoe to make key cards on encoder, make reservations for meals and other services, provide local information, provide directions, provide delivery and assist with postal service, and assist with replacement of lost items.
- Homeowner services to include: the same services provided to guests and serve as liaison between owners and rental management, housekeeping, and maintenance services.
- Employee management of front desk and bellmen staff to include: interviews, recommendations to board on hiring and firing, manage employee documentation, scheduling, manage time clock, job descriptions, task lists, employee evaluations.
- Cleaning and janitorial management of all common areas to include: directing concierge and bellmen staff to maintain an impeccably clean building in like new condition; specifying, ordering and verifying receipt of supplies, participate in performing the work as needed.
- Building operations to include: coordinate with the Building Engineer to maintain the building in like new condition, to optimize efficient use of the HVAC system, to schedule maintenance staff for maximum coverage, to provide bellman assistance with snow removal, trash removal and landscape maintenance.
- Vendor management to: recommend vendors, assure receipt of goods and services, approve invoices for goods and services for payment.
- Marketing and promotion
- Security to include: maintain inventory and control of key cards assigned to Soaring Eagle Lodge, maintain other Soaring Eagle Lodge keys in a locked box, serve as an emergency contact for Snowshoe Mountain, Inc. and for Simplex alarm system monitor.
- In general to advise the Executive Board on policies and procedures to accomplish above.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervisor will be the Association Manager and a designated Executive Board liaison.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Will supervise front desk and bellman staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in hotel/motel management and management of up to 15 employees.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to perform routine cleaning and janitorial tasks to include window washing, furniture polishing, mopping floors, vacuuming and picking up litter.
NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Flexibility to work non-traditional hours to include weekends and evenings.
PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: This position could lead to the position of Building Manager.
