Front Desk Lodge Job at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc.
Location: Gainesville, FL
Rate of Pay: $15.00/hour Shift Differential
The Lodge provides temporary housing for clients receiving outpatient services through Meridian. The position requires the ability to model behaviors and work as a team to ensure that the housing tenants reach their goals of recovery on and off campus by adhering to the rules of the Lodge.
Minimum Qualifications:
1-year experience in human service field required. Personal recovery of at least 2 years may be substituted for work experience. Preference is given to candidates with work experience in substance abuse or mental health areas.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Participate in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in areas related to the focus of the residential program
2. Participate in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in areas related to the focus of the residential program
3. Attend meetings as appropriate and meet regularly with supervisor and peers to exchange pertinent information and to receive supervision
4. Manage crisis and emergency situations involving residents. Obtain emergency medical help as needed
5. Send shift reports documenting all activity at the Lodge to immediate supervisor
6. Interact appropriately with any and all visitors, family members, and care providers of residents
7. Assist with inventory and general maintenance of supplies, facilities and equipment
8. Perform cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor
9. Interact with clients in a confidential, therapeutic, and responsible manner maintaining a high level of ethical conduct
10. Perform other duties as assigned
11. Abides by the Staffing Absenteeism policies and submits timesheets in a timely fashion.
12. Staff is required to stay over shift until appropriate and sufficient staff has arrived. At times, in circumstances of staff call-outs, increased client acuity or supervisor requests, staff is required to stay until dismissed by Supervisor, Staffing Department or Administrator on-call.
Violation in any of these above areas may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination
Physical Requirements:
- Significant amounts of walking and standing are required in monitoring of tenants.
- Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine. Distance and peripheral vision needed for driving and monitoring of residents.
- Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be awake on all shifts - no sleeping
