Under the direction of the Owner, Executive Director and Forensic & SSI Specialist, Forensic & SSI Specialist Assistant is responsible for providing SSI support and various resources with the implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISP) through the guidance of area Regional Centers, focusing on increasing consumer independence by providing independent living skills to adults with developmental disabilities. Support educators as they strive to provide services to increase consumer’s independence and ensure judicial plans are followed. Support consumers with understanding and providing necessary documentation to SSA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete all billable hours assigned to caseload
  • Submit supporting documentation, daily logs, on the 1 st and 16 th of each month. Daily logs must have session notes and signature of consumer.
  • Assist Forensic & SSI Specialist with working collaboratively with consumer and

family’s regarding SSI or Medi-Cal issues.

  • Assist Forensic & SSI Specialist with submitting reports of suspected abuse by filing

an "Incident Report" to relative agency within compliance (ASP, DDS); abuse includes
sexual and physical as well as isolation and neglect.

  • Provide appropriate information to Assessment Department and Forensic & SSI

Specialist for progress reports that are submitted to Regional Center and appropriate
organizations every 6 months or as needed.

  • Assist with assignment of consumers and encourage their active involvement in proper decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Advocate and work closely with consumer through governmental agencies such as Medi-Cal, AFDC, SSI, IHSS and other non-profit organizations.
  • Maintain active communication and provide feedback to Educators; with approval and direction of Forensic & SSI Specialist represent company during IPP meetings,

consumer assessments, court hearings, SSI hearings or other applicable meetings.

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess strong supervisory, administrative and organizational skills; experience

with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification
  • Valid Class "C" Driver's License
  • Valid Auto Insurance required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
