The Fleet Manager will provide professional coordination services for managing and maintaining the fleet of vehicles for our Solar Installations. The Fleet Manager must demonstrate strong leadership, management, and coordination skill sets. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail, is organized, and can communicate effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Track and maintain the health of all vehicles including light duty and medium duty vehicles.
- Remotely manage and oversee all repairs and maintenance
- Maintain registration, insurance and DOT compliance
- Provide leadership to Field Ops personnel on best practices for fleet management
- Track and manage the Fuel Card Program
- Track and manage various highway toll programs
- Coordinate the in-take and activation of newly acquired vehicles.
- Facilitate the management and processing of insurance claims in coordination with Better Earth’s Compliance department.
- Track and record profitability of a large fleet
- Communicate, manage and negotiate with vendors and service providers
- Develop successful implementation plans and programs to increase uptime and utilization
- Improve the utilization and reduction of operating costs and capital expenditure
Requirements
- 2+ years of leadership/management experience
- Mechanical experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of Federal and California State DOT Laws and Requirements for Compliance is a must
- Strong communication and negotiating skills
- Ability to work a fluctuating schedule
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Experience with computerized Maintenance Management software
- Proficient with Google Workplace (G Suite)

- Pay: $60,000 - $75,000 /year
