SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

The Financial Intelligence Unit Risk Reporting Analyst supports the Bank’s enterprise-wide BSA/AML/OFAC Program in assisting in the development and ongoing maintenance of specialized reporting to be incorporated in the Bank’s enterprise-wide BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessment and committee reporting. This position is responsible for obtaining, organizing, and analyzing large volumes of quantitative data related to the Bank’s product and services and higher risk customers, while ensuring accuracy in a clear and consistent format. Also responsible for assisting in other tasks, projects, and initiatives as assigned.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position is expected to perform the specific duties, tasks, and responsibilities as outlined below:

  • Support the Director of Governance in the development, organization, and ongoing maintenance of bank-wide reporting in various formats for use in FIU risk assessments, committee reporting, and presentations.
  • Collect, evaluate, and format statistical data and related information using various bank systems and coordinating with other lines of business.
  • Analyze existing reporting processes and data to identify potential issues or gaps, resolving discrepancies through research and/or implementing enhancements to ensure accuracy and consistency of content.
  • Manage a database of reporting data sources, systems, and department/line of business contacts to ensure reports are generated and obtained in a timely manner.
  • Partner with appropriate departments/personnel to test and produce new and/or enhanced FIU reporting or other business requirements.
  • Create and update relevant procedures and job aids as processes are developed and enhanced.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly committee reporting, including research of relevant BSA/AML and sanctions regulatory updates and enforcement actions.
  • Maintain proficiency in all aspects of BSA/AML/OFAC compliance; attend FIU training as assigned.
  • Adhere to all provisions of SouthState Bank policies and procedures, including the confidentiality policy, code of ethics and BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, according to the needs of the Bank.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Education: College degree or equivalent work experience in a depository institution.
  • Experience: General banking knowledge, including Federal and State regulatory requirements, with 5+ years of experience in bank operations. BSA/AML, fraud, and/or compliance experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Ability to interface with all lines of business and individuals at various levels. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, with an emphasis in Excel, various banking systems, and reporting applications.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required online annual compliance training and FIU training as assigned.
