FIELD BASED ROLE - BASED IN INDIANA

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to break into the installation, maintenance, and calibration Field Engineering sector. We’re either looking for someone who has some experience working as a Field Engineer in any capacity, or who has an engineering qualification and is looking for a new opportunity. Previous experience of this type of role is not necessary as we are willing to train someone, but we do need someone with a technical brain and the ability to quickly grasp engineering concepts and processes. This is an ideal opportunity for someone setting out in their career, or alternatively for an experienced Engineer looking for a change into a new sector.

Checkit's Monitoring System consists of sensors that monitor temperature, humidity, differential pressure, oxygen, and C02, sending alarms to our central hub if readings fall outside expected boundaries. This helps our customers to ensure that critical systems are working as expected, and to know quickly if something is wrong so they can fix it before it becomes a problem. We help the medical sector keep things like blood products and vaccines at the correct temperature by monitoring their storage fridges and freezers.

This role is key to successful customer installations, calibrations, and the ongoing optimal operation of Checkit sensors and equipment, chiefly with medical sector customers. It is a mixed and varied role, working with remote wireless and cloud based monitoring systems. The role reports to our US Operations Director located in Tampa, FL and involves working with our customers on their sites located across the Midwest.

  • Analysing US Operations processes and ways of working, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Traveling weekly to customer sites across the Midwest.

What we're looking for

  • Prior experience as a Field Service Technician or Engineer in any field of service. Specific experience of maintenance, installation or calibration engineering would be ideal, but is not essential as training will be provided.
  • Alternatively, an engineering background or qualification and a desire to move into this kind of role.
  • A technical brain who can quickly learn and understand our products and how they work.
  • Highly professional with a passion for delivering incredible customer service, build strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and a get-it-right first-time approach.
  • A quick and attentive learner who is keen to be trained and developed.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage travel arrangements.
  • IT literate with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Good experience with Microsoft Office suite especially Word and Excel.
  • Willing to travel extensively across the region. The role will be minimum 3 days per week on the road with regular nights staying away so it’s crucial you are happy to do this.
