Summary:

The overall responsibilities of a Kolob Canyon Grave Mentor are:

First, to understand and seek to accomplish the vision and mission of this facility. It is not just what we do around here; it is also about the way we do it.

Duties:

She is responsible for supporting the program and its clients and ensuring the safety of the students. This includes but is not limited to:

1. Knowing the Kolob Canyon Program and Policies and Procedures

2. Supervision of students. Keep youth in close proximity.

3. Constantly be in communication with team member to ensure that all students are properly supervised

4. Maintain secure situations at all times; including staying awake all shift.

5. Support itineraries, agendas, and schedules

6. Complete required activities before morning shift arrives

7. Ensure the safety of the youth by really making sure they are there

8. Provide ongoing support for students

9. Monitor and record youth’s activity

10. Attend all staff meeting and trainings

11. Professionalism is maintained at all times for all duties

Qualifications:

• Experience working with adolescents, children and/or their families
• Some college education and/or training to work with adolescents, children and/or their families
• Physical ability to implement duties as described above
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
• Ability to complete all paperwork for employee file

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing a safe living environment through frequently checking on students.
• Meal preparation
• Other responsibilities assigned by the Residential Director such as preparation for a holiday or tallying daily grades.
