$30,000 to $35,000 (depending on experience / qualifications) plus benefits (12 month work schedule) 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
Coordinates all parent involvement and volunteer activities within the Child Development (Head Start) Program of Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, Inc. This position includes responsibility for compliance with all standards, policies and regulations related to ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance) within the Head Start Program. The person in this position shall ensure that parents and community members are involved as volunteers in all aspects of the program. This position also entails responsibility for increasing Head Start’s involvement and recognition in the community.
Position involves a variety of planning, developing, coordinating, communicating, collaborating, and coordinating duties in support of a major activity of Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, Inc. This position is concerned with rendering assistance to individuals and groups with problems such as poverty, illness, family maladjustment, antisocial behavior, financial management, limited recreation opportunities, and inadequate housing.
Assisting in the planning and coordination of adult learning activities through existing programs of instruction or by setting up specialized classes will fall within the scope of responsibility of this position.
Requirements
Educational Level:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field from four-year college or university with experience in program organization, social services, or adult learning; Background in Management is desired as well as a general knowledge of all the components of the Head Start Program. Must have an extensive knowledge of computers and possess social service skills.
