Provide didactic education, advising, and mentoring for Nurse Anesthesia students.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities may include (based on the teaching needs of the Department):
- Direct instruction: Provide didactic lectures on assigned anesthesia topics remotely or at either the North Chicago or Huntley IL campuses (depending on specific course requirements). You may also provide simulation education based on program needs and your availability for the date(s) needed.
- Assessment: Participate as a Faculty Committee member in the assessment activities of the DNP program.
- Didactic advising and mentoring for students: Faculty advising/mentoring for assigned students.
Scholarly activities may include:
- Original scholarship: Participation in the scholarship of clinical practice within own practice setting
- Research mentoring: Service as a Doctoral Project Advisor as assigned.
Service activities include internal and external contributions through:
- Committees: Serve as a member of the Faculty Committee for the Department of Nurse Anesthesia
- Recruitment: Participate in the selection of applicants to the DNP program (as available)
- Direct patient care: Maintain active clinical practice as a CRNA
Conditions of Employment
- Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check
- Must have proof of COVID 19 vaccination or a university approved exemption
Required Education & Experience
- Doctor of Nursing Practice degree
- Current CRNA certification
- Current unencumbered license to practice as a CRNA in the United States
- Active clinical practice as a CRNA
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of nurse anesthesia theory and current clinical practice requirements for CRNAs
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of RFU nurse anesthesia program, and simulation curriculum within the program
