Position Summary:

Works under the direction of Environmental Engineering Technician II, III, and IV’s to assure that permit required chemical analysis, quality control/quality assurance data is complete. Monitors, adjusts and maintains equipment and documents, as directed. Notifies other Environmental Engineering Technician’s of any noncompliance situations.

Decision-Making:

1. Makes decisions based on direction provided by Environmental Engineering Technician II, III, and IV’s.

Essential Function/Major Responsibilities:

1. Learn and know operating and training procedures. (continuously)

2. Operates and maintains all equipment and systems, as directed. (continuously)

3. Responsible for learning technical knowledge of RODI, waste treatment, boilers, compressors, and vacuum and related instrumentation. (continuously)

4. Accept responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, as directed. (continuously)

5. Monitor data and report findings as directed for Environmental Engineering Technician IV’s to ensure Local, State and Federal compliance with environmental regulations and archive data and documentation. (daily)

6. Learn processes and system/equipment operation to ensure continuous production at entire plant site. (continuously)

7. Work with other technicians, as directed on analysis, repair and operation of all systems. (daily)

Position Requirements:

1. Minimum Post Secondary, Apprenticeship, or equivalent.

2. Minimum six (6) months – one (1) year experience.

3. Willingness to learn technical aspects of the department, equipment, and systems. May include certificates, home study, training, or vendor seminars.

4. Ability to learn to develop bench tests and methodology for process control and improvement.

5. Must show ability to learn plant support systems and environmental regulations.

6. Must show ability to learn safety / environmental rules.

7. Must show ability to learn to read and interpret complex documents and manuals, write reports and correspondence.

8. Requires a high level of verbal and written communication skills.

9. Must show ability to learn Windows / NT computer applications.

10. Must show ability to troubleshoot, recognize, define, and work with others to solve engineering problems.

11. Must show ability to learn to work well with others, in groups or teams and take direction in a positive and professional manner.

12. Experience working with facility systems is desired.

13. Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, push, pull and pickup items for various amounts of time throughout the day.

14. Must be able to pass a drug test (excluding marijuana) and background check.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
