Position Summary

The Facilities superintendent has the main responsibility to supervise the facilities maintenance department employees in coordination with the warehouse and plant manager under the director of the Facilities Director. You will be responsible for making sure that the buildings grounds meet the needs of the people that work within them. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and maintains and upkeeps the grounds, buildings and equipment.

Essential Job Functions

• Oversee staff that installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
• Coordinate the maintenance and repair of the plumbing, lighting, air conditioning, electric and fire protection systems as needed. Make periodic inspections and communicate results or concerns to the Facilities Director.
• Responsible for building and site housekeeping, sanitation, landscaping and building structure (interior and exterior), roofing and parking lots.
• Coordinate, direct and supervise outside contractors.
• Ensure a safe working environment by following good safety practices.
• Schedule and ensure completion of preventative maintenance.
• Assign and supervise the work and activities of the facilities employees
• Responsible for handling all work orders submitted through Spice Works (once Implemented)
• Responsible for all crew administrative work, such as vacation scheduling.
• Scheduling of employees to ensure adequate coverage at all times
• Route any material requisitions to the Facilities Director or his designee.
• Train new building personnel to make sure they are work-ready and able to function in the absence of others and without close supervision
• Equally share weekend call rotation with the maintenance technicians and be available to work extended hours on any given day in the event of emergencies or adverse weather.
• Coordinate forklifts repairs and advise on the life cycle of forklifts.
• Track facilities requests and ensure requests are completed within established timelines and quality standards Submit completed work tickets requests to facilities director
• Ability to supervise and assist with all aspects of snow removal and road sanding and Communicate readiness for safe warehouse opening to Facilities Director and or other personnel.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Facilities Director.
• Participate in all training required and assigned to maintain skill set and train team on policies and procedures.
