How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The ERISA Appeals Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and researching appeals for Deltas ERISA governed plans. The specialist will coordinate with applicable teams internal to Human Resources as well as vendor partners to ensure a thorough and complete investigation of inquiries. Additionally, they will maintain records and files in accordance with the policies of the Administrative Committee at Delta and will draft official correspondence and coordinate the execution of committee review outcomes.

This role will be based at the General Offices in Atlanta, Georgia.

The primary responsibilities for this role are:
  • Review and research appeals for ERISA governed plans
  • Draft correspondence and coordinate reviews for the Administrative Committee & Subcommittee
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to respond to requests for information for government agencies
  • Maintain records and files
  • Compile and present facts and findings for each case to the Administrative Committee

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Required minimum of 5 years of experience with pension, health, and welfare or retirement and survivor operations.
  • Excellent communication, writing and editing skills
  • Successful candidate must be a self-starter who takes full accountability for performance and requires minimum supervision.
  • Must possess ability to effectively interact with a variety of individuals within the company, clients and vendor organizations.
  • Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to handle continually changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
  • Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
