The Custom Equipment Designer will be a part of the Industrial Design-Custom Equipment Design Team at Vollrath and work with a wide range of stakeholders and cross functional teams providing best in class design work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, & OTHER DUTIES

• Provide designs that address Vollrath customer needs and specifications accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner that is based on published lead times.
• Create Solid Works and /or AutoCAD design packages that can range from high quality renderings and light CAD design packages to and manufacturing ready design drawings with schedules and specification books.
• Provide timely and accurate revisions for design packages per customer requirements and sign-off.
• Work collaboratively and proactively with all members of the Custom Equipment Design Team, including- Project Development, Sales, Project Managers, Engineering, and Manufacturing at multiple manufacturing sites.
• Have knowledge of the Vollrath Serving Systems and Fabricator Components business and the specific equipment that we provide to accurate designs for customers.
• Have knowledge of the varying levels of Vollrath 2, 4, and 6 series Serving Equipment and the different manufacturing and construction details of those items.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of various materials, processes, and technologies for use on Vollrath equipment design solutions.
• Understand the industry technology needs to provide successful file and information transfers for our customers.
• Knowledge of Revit Skills and/ or commercial kitchen equipment design is desirable.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 – 6 years of technical design experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Food Service design experience, knowledge of stainless steel and millwork construction methods, Revit model creation ability.

Mechanical or Technical Design Degree
