EO/IR Principal Engineer

Full Time – Immediate Start
Woodland Hills, CA
Summary:
Serves as Electro-Optical and Infrared Sensors (EO/IR) Principal Engineer in partnership with government contractor. Engineer will coordinate design, testing, and engineering activities associated with the development of electro-optical/infrared sensor systems. Ideal candidate must have a strong background in concept development, and implementation of EO/IR systems image processing. Engineer will lead planning, reviews, execution, and will be expected to lead efforts in demonstration of capabilities to engineering teams and internal/external customers. Candidate must have experience working on presenting status and technical alternatives for new or existing aerospace systems.
Other Duties:
- Perform technical and risk analysis in planning, and system integration studies
- Develop various sensor interfaces in the manufacturing process to include concept design, testing, installation, and maintenance
- Lead or direct interactions, including presentations, to internal and external customers
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Science, or related S.T.E.M. degree
- 5 years of experience in infrared and electro-optical systems
- Strong communications skills and ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting government projects and working closely with Program Managers
- Candidate must demonstrate creative skills, excellent communication, can-do attitude, and the desire to work in complex engineering teams
- Familiarity/experience with programming languages (Python or MATLAB a plus)
- Knowledge and understanding of DoD operations as related to planning and design
- Solid skills with Microsoft 365: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
