Responsibilities
This position is remote and will include up to 50% of your time in the field performing and/or overseeing project work. The position requires working outdoors at petroleum refineries and general/industrial construction sites. Under the direct supervision of Senior Project Managers, the successful candidate will:
Assist the Senior Project Manager to scope, cost, plan, execute, and report for environmental investigation and remediation projects
Assist the Senior Project Manager to select and manage subcontractors, prepare purchase orders, and approve vendor invoices
Assist the Senior Project Manager to coordinate resources as necessary to complete project tasks on budget and within the schedule
Develop work plans and health & safety plans, brief field staff, and coordinate with regulatory agencies, subcontractors and clients to execute investigation and remediation projects
Oversee and perform field investigations that include surface reconnaissance, surface mapping, surface water measurements and sampling, drilling, trenching, and multi-media sample collection (air, water, soil) for field and laboratory testing
Manage and evaluate data, perform analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal standards for regulatory compliance
Evaluate remedial alternatives for soil, groundwater, sediment, and indoor air impacts and develop Remedial Implementation Work Plans
Oversee and perform remedial activities for impacted soil (excavation, in-situ treatment, etc.), groundwater (extraction, in-situ treatment, etc.), and vapor (indoor air mitigation system, engineering controls, etc.)
Assist to prepare investigation summary, remedy implementation, performance monitoring, and site closure reports for submittal to clients and agencies
Assist to prepare and review engineering plans/documents, specifications, and drawings
Assist to prepare proposals and cost estimates for new business opportunities
Location
This position is remote within proximity to the primary project location. Potential remote office locations include New Mexico (Gallup, Farmington, or Albuquerque region), Arizona (Flagstaff, Holbrook, or Show Low region), or Colorado (Durango or Cortez region).
Our team is looking for someone who has:
Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail and accuracy, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team members
Initiative and motivation, with an emphasis on completing project deliverables on schedule and within budget
The ability to travel to client sites and other Trihydro offices
Experience with remediation system design and construction is a plus
Experience with environmental investigations and data evaluation is a plus
Experience in water treatment systems is a plus
Working knowledge of health and safety practices and a commitment to safe operations
Fluency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and conversant with Microsoft Project or equivalent project scheduling packages
Able to grasp scientific concepts and apply them to different technical challenges in a principally self-directed manner
Forty-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus
Position Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geologic Engineering, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field
3-5 years of relevant experience
A clean driving record
