ENTRY-LEVEL URBAN PLANNER Job at Perkins Engineering Consultants
RESPONSIBILITIES
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an Urban Planner position available to work on diverse projects with multiple departments. This position is located in either our Madison or Milwaukee office.
Responsibilities include:
- Applying design principles to create an attractive and well-functioning built environment through review of development proposals
- Assists in the analysis and preparation or modification of reports and plans for planning projects
- Producing massing studies and other zoning and site analyses to support development initiatives
- Assist in long-range studies and graphic development
- Data collection and analysis
- Conducts basic planning research to determine facility requirements
- Prepare guidelines, plans, and strategies and other documents for a wide range of projects
Occasional travel will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture, or related field.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- Master’s degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, or related field
- Knowledge of urban or landscape design and physical planning
- Proficiency in ESRI products, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, CAD/Civil3D, or other 3D design programs
- Knowledge of zoning code updates and development review, including land divisions, zoning reviews, and conditional uses
