Essential Functions:
  • Leads the performance management process at EMC through coaching leaders and team members on the full spectrum of the process, providing expertise, consultation, and guidance
  • Coaches people leaders and HRBP team to address behavior and performance concerns and provides guidance and assistance regarding the creation and delivery of appropriate feedback and disciplinary actions
  • Partners with Legal department with outcomes of investigations and identifying next steps
  • Plans, designs, and implements strategic performance management initiatives to put them into practice across EMC
  • Tracks performance management data including interventions, voluntary and involuntary terminations to identify and report trends and analyzes data on exit surveys and climate audits to identify and report on trends
  • Develops and conducts educational sessions and communications for team members and people leaders aimed at aligning team member performance with organizational goals
  • Conducts research regarding best practices and utilizes research to develop recommendations for policy and procedure updates, tools, templates, education, and other resources
  • Manages the process and serves as the subject matter expert regarding all reduction in force processes for the company
  • Collaborates with Legal and Total Rewards on severance packages and works with other stakeholders and manages scheduling, notifications, meetings, and transition plans
  • Facilitates and partners with the HRIS team to initiate annual performance management processes, such as goal setting, mid-year and final performance evaluations in Workday, including any necessary testing
  • Ensures compliance between performance management and applicable protected leave laws and regulations, such as FMLA, ADA and STD
  • Addresses FMLA, ADA and Leave without Pay personnel issues appropriately and ensures the consistent use of an organization-wide standard operating procedure that outlines appropriate action and captures sufficient documentation when addressing these concerns
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources, business management or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Seven years of human resources experience, including at least five years of experience in performance management consulting or related experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent knowledge of labor laws and other related legislation
  • Superior knowledge of performance management interventions
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent ability to mitigate bias and legal liability
  • Excellent ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
  • Strong consultation, change management and critical thinking skills, including fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including training and presentation skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Superior customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
